I was lucky and had been warned by my brother who had been there the month before to have the surgery as to what to expect, otherwise I think I might have backed out of the entire thing. Now that I see how easy it was I would like to go back and have some work done on my arms. If you are planning on going I highly, highly recommend the guest house over the hotel. The staff at the guest house are so incredible. Twenty-four hour nursing care and so super clean.
I had the lab band revision to sleeve at the same time my husband had a sleeve done. I had initially lost 127 pounds with the band, but had gained about 55 of it back. I have lost 15 pounds to his 83 at this time. Although I am so glad I no longer have the band due to the problems with reflux, I am very discouraged about my lack of weight loss compared to my husbands. Although I keep trying to remind myself this is my second weight loss surgery and his first and he was a very, very large man. Also I seem to tolerate foods better than he does, although neither of us can tolerate sweets very well(makes us feel bad). With the lab band there were certain foods that just would not pass through the band and I had to write off, but with the sleeve, although I may only be able to take two bites I can eat any type of food and not worry. I don't even know why they do lap bands, they are a waste of money! Wish I had known more about them before I got mine.
