Although pulling up in front of the clinic is a little un nerving because its in a strip mall next to an Office Max and a huge Porn store...I have no complaints about the clinic, doctors and nurses. However, I do not recommend going to do this surgery w/out taking someone along. I had every reaction that could be expected. I was nauseated from the anesthesia and pain meds after, had horrible pain from the co2 gas they pump into abdomen, it lasted two full weeks. I got no infection and I'm healing well. My husband had the surgery on the same day, he had some gas and nausea for the first few days but was feeling much better by the time we left. If I hadn't had him I would have been sunk!
The heating pad helped a lot and walking around also. Take your own Milk of Magnesium cuz what they give you tastes horrible. We stayed an extra night in their extended care facility before going to the hotel but they did not charge us any extra.
It's been three weeks since our surgery and we are still recovering. I've had surgery before and fatigue is normal after general anesthesia. I also feel that it's hard to have any energy when you can only take in a few hundred calories a day. So give yourself plenty of time to recover...it's probably more lengthy due to our age and bmi's were at 50%.
I am now learning what I can eat and how much, drinking lots of water slowly. I'm happy with our 40lb weight loss already for each of us!
