I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18, and after having my first son at 21, followed by a heartbreaking miscarriage doctors told me it might be difficult to grow my family. During postpartum, I was mindful of what I ate, yet I continued to gain weight, even more than I did while pregnant. It felt like a losing battle.
Around that time, my mom had undergone gastric sleeve surgery, and after seeing her results, I decided to go for it too. It turned out to be the best decision I've ever made. The first three months were tough, but I stayed committed to my diet and hit the gym consistently for the first year. That dedication paid off I lost over 100 pounds.
I was able to maintain that weight loss through two successful pregnancies in 2020. However, after that, I slipped back into old habits, stopped exercising, and gained back around 40 pounds.
In 2023, I gave birth to a healthy baby girl, and something unexpected happened during postpartum, the weight started to drop almost like magic. Today, I'm back at 140 lbs. I don't exercise regularly, and my eating is moderately healthy, but I've found a balance that works for me right now.
This journey hasn't been easy, but it's been worth every step. From battling PCOS and fertility fears to embracing motherhood and major lifestyle changes, I've learned that transformation is possible with patience, persistence, and self love
