I've struggled with my weight my whole life. They call it the weight loss battle, because it is like a fight that never ends. Even when I was successful at weight loss and reached some of my goals; I never reached all of them and I could not maintain my success long-term. It was just heart breaking to go up and down, up and down for years. Now that I've aged it's even harder. I really felt like this insidious problem would need a radical solution. That's when I began to look at weight loss surgery, but I found that the cost was prohibitive. That is when I found Jerusalem Hospital, which finally put this solution within reach. They even offer financing. I was just thrilled, "Where do I sign?" My experience there was wonderful. I had a safe and caring procedure which was done at a time that was convenient for me. The staff was generally wonderful, from Melissa who was my patient liaison, to Edgar and Arturo, who were my nurses at the Recovery House. They do see to your needs. I've called Melissa several times since my surgery with questions and she always has good advice. My sutures healed well and I have lost 21 pounds already. I had surgery one month ago. I was afraid to have my surgery in Mexico. It didn't help that many of my co-workers had such negative opinions about the safety of it. I didn't let anyone's negativity deter me and now everyone is commenting on how good I am looking these days. I know that this journey is one that I will be on for some time and that my weight will go down over time. I am thrilled to finally have a real chance at winning the weight loss battle and living a healthy normal weight life.
