After a rough start because of a wait at the clinic things happened fast. Surgery went well but I was a bit sick afterwards. I had a few issues but the nurses were able to help me and came every time I called. One downside to having surgery done in another country is the language barrier but I survived so that's ok.

The nurses helped a lot at the hotel and ensured we were eating enough and came a few extra times to check my husbands blood pressure who also had the same surgery as me on the same day.

Travel back was hard for me, all I can suggest is drinking a vitamin water or Gatorade and make sure your pain killers are scheduled to be taken during your flight. Therefore you can have some relief on your travels home.

I didn't encounter any infections and I feel pretty good. Just need to make sure to always carry a drink with me for those moments you don't feel well. Since the first day of my pre-opt diet it has been 18 days and in that time I have lost 24lbs and feel great. I can not wait to lose more weight and feel better and have my joints feel better and start new adventures in my life.

One point of advice I can give is not to cheat on your pre-opt diet because it makes it easier to transition after surgery and you will have bypassed to cravings stage so in the end you will benefit.
