The Gastric Sleeve was the best thing I have done. Having said that - it is a tool, not a solution, people need to know that. Food addiction needs to be corrected within the soul or you will gain it all back eventually. You need to be happy and embrace the weightloss but once it comes to an end you need to maintain it - thats the hard part. The maintenance outside of a year is still dicipline on the over-earters food addicted part of people as you can still eat alot, just not alot at a time. I feel at 18 months, I am trying to learn to eat healthy vs cheap (take out) to balance the surgery & my food addiction. I do not want to be fat... but eating is a part of me and with this surgery you are capable of eating all day long after a year... but small bits all day long, which helps maintain. We will see in a year - I only had 45lbs to lose so I am not a good canidate for judgement - but I would absolutely recommend the sleeve as I feel it is way more effective than any "diet" I have tried, and I have tried them all....Good Luck
Kathy
