I had just turned 50 and I was done being disappointed by another diet. I started to research gastric bypass and found Weight Loss Agents and Dr. Almanza. I didn't have insurance but the private pay price for gastric sleeve surgery fit my budget. So I booked my appointment and started to get things in order for my new life.
The first thing I did was give away all the diet supplements and weight loss books that I had on hand. That was a big relief. Next I went and bought a very cool pair of pants two sizes too small to measure my success later down the line.
Living in San Diego for 25 years I knew Tijuana and what to expect going to Mexico.
I was pleasantly surprised by the facility and the staff. The doctors were very professional and wonderful. The process was simple. After I got home I dealt with everything on my own. I had to eat differently and take my time. Learning to love exercise is a entirely new experience. A few times in the past 7 month I have had very stressful situations where I ate junk food for several weeks. But I didn't gain weight because I didn't eat as much as I would have in the past. And when I got back on my path again the weight just starts to come right off. I would have not changed my experience for the world. Unfortunately that cool pair of pants had to go to the Goodwill. I shrank right out of them!
