I have been overweight for years. Close to ten years I think. I gained a lot after high school, after having my daughter, and after my divorce. I went from 145 in high school, to being 29 and 227. Dieting didn't work for me. My body was too torn up from the weight and child birth to exercise without excrutiating pain in my pelvis, knees, and ankles.

When my father passed away this year of stomach cancer, although heart-breaking, I had a new opportunity. My mother offered my sisters and I one thing from dad's life insurance as a gift. I chose the gastric sleeve.

Things went great down in Mexico. Even went for walks with my mom when I was feeling up to it and did some shopping.

Since the day of my surgery, June 6th 2013, to today December 16th 2013, I went from being 227 to 156 today. I have been going back and forth from 150-156 for a month. I feel a lot better and I look a lot better too. I am no longer diabetic, and I don't scowl at myself in the mirror everyday like I used to.

You will have good days and you will have bad days, and you will miss eating like you did, but it's worth it in the long run. You will be around a lot longer for yourself and for your loved ones.

I hope any that are considering this procedure do their research as I did and come to the conclusion that Hospital Jerusalem is safe, clean, professional, friendly, caring, a little strange (haha), and fun.
