At my highest weight I was 450. I decided I had enough with the yoyo diets. When I went to Mexico I was very nervous and scared. The driver Oscar picked me and my mother up at the San Diego airport on March 11th. We then went to the hotel and settled into our room. The hotel staff was more than welcoming and nice. The next morning at 10 am Oscar picked us up to go to the hospital. Once there I met many other patients who had just had the surgery and some who were getting ready like myself. After haveing blood test and ekg I was taken up to my room with another patient who would be my roommate for after the surgery. Around 1 I went back for my surgery and by 3 I was back in my room doing great and visiting with my roommate and the people who came with us. By 4 we were both walking the halls! The next morning after many nurse and doctor checks I was back at the hotel with my mom. The nurse at the hotel visited twice a day with an IV bag of fluid and the after surgery cocktail of pain, antiheartburn, antinausea, and antibiotics meds. Alex is the BEST nurse. Wish I could have taken her home with me. The day before we went home Oscar took us to a Mexican flea market. It was interesting and I got souvenirs for all my kids. The next day we left for the airport with a bag of meds and well wishes. When I went to Mexico I weighed 409 a week later and I now weigh 396. :)
